Available for Origin on PC only, the purpose of the Star Wars Battlefront Closed Alpha is to perform a number of technical tests that will help the team at DICE as they continue the development of the game.

NOTE: Not everyone gets selected for the alpha test.
An Origin account is required to enter the alpha, yet, your application may be rejected. This might be because you need certain pc requirements or maybe the alpha is full. The Star Wars Battlefront Closed Alpha is a technical test and is available for a small number of users.
According to Polygon, the system requirements for the alpha are :
- a quad-core CPU
- 6 GB RAM
- an Nvidia GeForce GTX-680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 with 2 GB RAM
- 64-bit Windows 7 or 8
EA also said that the performance at this stage of development might be inconsistent and the game progress made during the alpha won’t transfer to the game.
EA will continue taking applications till June 30, but the eligibility criteria is completely unknown.
Reddit discussions indicate that some are getting selected while some are not, but again, no one knows why.
